Thanks Gary, I'll check it out. I was hoping I could use my Dazzle equipment and maybe get a free software online. I'll check this Elgato out. If too expensive, I'll break out my old Windows XP and use my Dazzle. Only have 6 VHS Tapes to convert and put on DVD. Thanks.
Then it's a matter of plugging in the Dazzle capture device, letting it handle driver detection -- we tested on a Windows Vista system, and the box carries a Vista-compatible logo -- and plugging in your video source of choice. No cables are supplied for connection, so you'll have to be ready with some standard RCA or S-Video cables to hand. The DVD Recorder software is wizard-driven and extremely easy to use. It's undoubtedly to be expected, but Dazzle DVD Recorder can't handle copy protected material, whether it's DECSS encoded DVDs or Macrovisioned VHS tapes. It is, after all, primarily designed for digitising home movies, so if you were considering using it to archive an old commercial VHS library, you'd have to look elsewhere.

EchoFX sells Mac OS X software drivers for USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 video capture devices. If you have one of the many devices we support, installing "USBVision" for USB 1.1 devices or "VideoGlide" for USB 2.0 devices, will allow you to preview and capture video using the device.
If you have a device and are not sure whether it will work, install the appropriate software, plug in the device, and launch the capture application. If your device is supported, a registration dialog will appear. You can use the "Demonstration" mode to test the software.
VideoGlide video capture devices are USB 2.0 "High-speed" devices based on Empia 28xx chipsets. They capture video at full-screen resolutions from NTSC, PAL or SECAM video sources.
